Śruty te powstają w wyniku cięcia stalowego drutu na odcinki równe jego średnicy. W efekcie uzyskiwane są ziarna o dokładnie takich samych wymiarach. Właściwości materiału wyjściowego, bardzo wysoka  trwałość oraz utrzymywanie parametrów w mieszance roboczej, powoduje że śruty typu CW chętnie wykorzystywane są w wymagających procesach takich jak shot peening.

Steel shots are created through a wire cut made into pellets equal to its diameter. The CW type shots are commonly exploited in such demanding processes as shot peening due to their starting material properties, very high sustainability and maintaining parameters in a working mixture.
